At Ball Regent, Duchess stunning, but Solomani Fashion Steals the Show

It was a vision from Regina's glory days, with the limousines arriving in front of the Ducal Palace for the Grand Ball. Hosted by the Regent Corina Ling-Raleigh, attendees included the legations of both Imperial and Zhodani, as well as the prominent citizens and power brokers of Regina. In fact, the guest list for the party was so expansive, it was obviously the mark of the new "people's Regent".

Some dramatic entertainment was provided for the party by the tango between the Regent and the TriDee star, Dirk Savage. Some female members of the party are reported to have said that they would willingly trade their stock portfolio as well as their husbands for the chance to have danced that number with Dirk.

The Solomani Ambassador, Christopher Blaelock and his companion, Pamela Blaelock also cut remarkably dashing and exciting figures on the dance floor.

With every tailor and seamstress gainfully employed for the first time in years, Regina's elite turned out in magnificent splendor, while the visiting legations held their own.

The host, Corina Ling-Raleigh, positively shone in a red moiré gown by Jean Blauvan. The daring, low cut number showed that Corina is no woman to be trifled with, either in politics or fashion. She was well matched by her escort, he-man hunk and vid star Dirk Savage, wearing a stylish, if casual, Arganté suit in silver-grey shark-skin.

The Imperials were well represented by Admiral Grey and his wife, Duchess Danerella. The Grand Admiral looked elegant, if stern in naval whites, while the duchess positively glowed in a simple black dress and gloves by Veracé.

The scene was stolen, however, by the Solomani consul and his escort. Mr. Blaelok, the consul, wore a superbly cut and fitted white-tie and tails formal, complete with white gloves that practically screamed old word sophistication and élan against Regina's brash, frontier sense of style. His escort, Pamela, undoubtably one of the most beatiful women on Regina, if not the Marches, wore a to-die-for powder blue raw silk gown suffused with tiny sapphires, and fitting as if a

blue aura surrounded her.
