TAS Rates Regina 'Yellow'

The Travellers' Aide Society's annual Travellers Guide rolled off the presses early this morning, and local citizens leafing through its pages were in for something of a surprise as the TAS reviewers ranked Regina 'yellow', meaning that travellers should be extremely cautious, or if possible avoid Regina.

The Guide, as well as a recently published travellers advisory, noted a high incidence of crime and police corruption, while at the same time saying "there are few if any cultural or historical sites of interest" and that " the most unique feature of Regina Up is it's large variety of bars and bordellos".

By mid morning a sizable crowd had gathered outside the TAS offices on Regina up, shouting obscenities and throwing objects at TAS staffers arriving for work. Police arriving at the scene did little to intervene other than to reroute traffic. "It's none of my business" said one of the unidentified officers. "Just exercising a little freedom of speech". When pressed further the officer stated that "the TAS was welcome to bring charges against anyone it believed violated it's rights or broke the law."

TAS executive Leni Hobler, taken to Regina Trauma with a concussion, was unavailable for comments

Solomani Expat, Writer Blenford Dies

Gegnard Blenford, the writer who first gained fame for his book "The All Seeing Eye: Inside SolSec" was pronounced dead at Aledon Memorial Hospital this afternoon, after apparently choking to death on a chicken bone. He was 84.

Gegnard, born on Gashidda to a powerful Solomani Party family, left the Rim after being declared a race traitor for his book on SolSec and numerous essays criticizing the Confederation government. He had grown disillusioned by the corruption and abuse of power even as he rose within the ranks of the party.

The Solomani government claims that he left before being arrested for the very same corruption that he had accused others of, and dismiss his publications as spiteful fabrications.

Blenford, who moved to the Marches out of fear of 'political enemies', has no living relatives. The noted author, animal lover and vegetarian left his 2.4 MCr estate to his pet kinkerju 'Max'.

Fritz my new boyfriend doesn't like my dog. He's an upporter and has never been around animals. How can I get him to accept 'Pepper', I've had her since she was a pup. --Gloria

Gloria, get rid of the bum right now. Any man who don't like dogs ain't worth spit, in my experience. And Pepper'll be a lot more loyal, a better listener and won't be goin' on 'bout needin' 'space'. Check out the local dog clubs to find a feller who appreciates you and Pep.

Fritz, my new neighbors leave their window open while they're having sex. I don't like to be rude. Like, it's none of my business. But they're Vegans. --Grv'nt

Grv'nt. Paint yer winder boy. You don't have to look. If yer peeking at things like that, I really don't want to know.

Fritz, my company has just transferred me to Regina up port and I want to fit in at the office. What gun should I buy? --Jake from Rhylanor

Well Jake, ole buddy, looks like you're already on yer way to fittin' in. When choosing a new 'iron' ya got ta balance style with functionality. For the corporate types, you want basic black, no chrome or stainless. That says conservative and solid. But pick an automatic. That tells the boss that you're not trapped in the past. Personally I favor a 10mm, which has good hitting power in a reasonable size. 9mm is just too 'everyman' and 12mm looks like you're compensating. Buy MilTech or Ling Standard. These are the top choices for corporate types and are well built guns. Get a well boned leather holster. Nothing looks tackier that a polymer holster with a business suit.
